IP Picker (Reverse DNS)

IP Picker provides the employees of the service desk with direct access to a PC tag or IP number identifying the client from which any given request is reported to IHLP® 2007.

Whenever a request is reported to the Service Desk, IP Picker gathers the IP address of the reporting client and connects to the DNS server to look for an available PC tag for the reporting client. IP Picker then submits the found PC tag to the request in question in IHLP® 2007. And if IP Picker does not receive valid information from the DNS server, the gathered IP number is submitted to the request instead.

Thus, IP Picker provide the employees of the service desk with direct access to available information on the client, whenever they receive a request in the service desk.
