Custom Templates provide you with the possibility of creating customized forms that will be available to the users of your organization when they request services from the service desk. And with Custom Templates you can control exactly what information the users must submit when requesting services such as:
- Ordering hardware
- Retrieving new passwords
- Registering new employees
- Altering user rights etc.
Management via user rights
You can differentiate the Custom Templates so that only certain employees have access to certain templates - or even to certain form elements within the templates. This ensures that only users authorized to request certain services have access to doing so.
How does Custom Templates work?
When a user submits information to a Custom Template, IHLP® 2007 creates a new request, transfers relevant data from the template to the requests, and attaches the submitted template to the request. In this way the employees of the IT department will always have the relevant information at hand when performing tasks derived from the request.
Thus, with Custom Templates you can improve usability for the endusers and at the same time streamline the workflow in the IT department.
Your shortcut to creating customized forms
Using the interface of Custom Templates anyone with a basic understanding of the architecture of IHLP® 2007 can create and edit customized forms.
The forms are created in an easily accessed window in which you define:
- What type of request IHLP® 2007 will attach the Custom Template to.
- What text fields and form elements the Custom Template will contain.
- The order of the form elements.
- What form elements will be mandatory.
- Which users will have access to which form elements.
